Chase, with his enthusiastic, outgoing spirit, and Patrick, with his thoughtful curiosity and deep connection to family, offer a dynamic foundation for our family.

While Chase is always looking for ways to bring people together, trying new hobbies or planning activities, Patrick loves his daily four-mile runs, playing with Teddy and spending as much time in the kitchen as he can. Though our interests may seem different, we both value the importance of learning and growth, which translates into our approach to life and how we will raise children.

Our contrasting energies can be humorous—like when Chase's tendency to take on every new hobby or project leaves Patrick laughing at how many "new things" are in the works—but it also means that we balance each other perfectly. We approach situations from different angles, which helps us make the best decisions together.

Growing up in families where love and connection were central, we are both deeply committed to nurturing and supporting those we love. We believe that the blending of our enthusiasm, curiosity, and devotion to family will provide our child with an environment where differences are celebrated and individuality is encouraged, creating a well-rounded and thoughtful upbringing.

Theodore ("Teddy") is our sweet, energetic golden retriever who has been an important part of our family since we adopted him. From the moment he joined our home, he has filled our lives with unconditional love, joy, and endless tail wags. Teddy is a true social butterfly—he greets every new friend with boundless excitement and affection, whether they have two legs or four. He loves long walks on the hiking trails, where he can explore nature and take in all the exciting sights and smells. But more than anything, he thrives on companionship and is happiest when he's surrounded by people who shower him with love and attention. We know Teddy will be a wonderful, gentle, and protective big brother, always ready to offer cuddles and bring laughter into our growing family.

We love our home! It's our safe space and sanctuary. Whether we're traveling, out at a show, or gathering at a friend's house for dinner, we always look forward to returning to these rooms that are so uniquely ours.

We purchased our home in 2022, shortly before our wedding. In fact, we hosted our rehearsal dinner and a post-wedding brunch here just eight weeks after moving in! Since then, we've slowly made it ours, including fencing in the yard, installing a new back deck, and preparing a nursery. We have several guest rooms and love hosting company on the weekends.

Our neighborhood is quiet, ending in a cul-de-sac, on the north side of downtown. Several neighbors are retired and home during the day, and everyone waves to one another.

It’s a welcoming space full of good energy and plenty of goodwill. We are close to the city, but distanced enough to enjoy the neighborhood feel, with a large park and several playgrounds within walking distance. We feel fortunate that we’re part of this supportive community and cannot wait to raise a child here!

Chase: Born in the D.C. area and raised in Alabama, Chase grew up with two brothers, Nicholas and Zachary, and although they don't live nearby, lots of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Chase is close to his family and sees them often. His parents live less than a two-hour drive away. Nicholas, his wife and their two daughters live in Charleston; Chase and Patrick visit them every chance they get.

His extended family is all over the country, with one cousin in Portugal, but is unique in that they always show up for weddings and family get togethers.

Chase is excited to introduce a new child into the family he and Patrick have formed from friends, who have proven to be a steady and supportive local family.

Patrick: Born and raised in Alabama, Patrick grew up with one sister, Jessica, who passed away when he was 15, and all four grandparents nearby. Today he has two step brothers, a step sister, half brother, an adopted brother and sister, and a step mom and dad - it's a blended family for sure! Patrick's mom can't wait to meet her first grandchild and plans to retire upon arrival so she can help full time! His extended family also is all over the country; however, an aunt and uncle and a cousin and his family all live nearby.

Patrick also looks forward to introducing a child to friends and family, as well as making new friends through the process.

We don’t know what led you down the path to make an adoption plan, nor do we pretend to understand exactly what you are thinking or feeling during this time. What we do know, without a doubt, is that we are here for you, and your baby will never experience a single moment without the comfort of love, support, and care. We promise to be fully engaged with you every step of the way, providing a foundation of respect and openness as we embark on this beautiful journey together.

The desire to become parents has been a part of our lives for as long as we can remember. From a young age, we both envisioned a life filled with children, love, and laughter. As we navigated the years together, it became clear that adoption would be the path for us to grow our family. Now, after our wedding and settling into our new home and community, we are more than ready to begin this next chapter. The excitement we feel is immeasurable, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to be here, sharing our story with you.
